This information is specific to Selinsgrove, PA and may not be applicable to other locations.What Your Day In This Role Might Involve At OC-BWI Distribution:The Forklift Operator is an integral part of our production team, involved in daily processes and successful outcomes for our facility and its customers.This position works closely with teammates at multiple levels in customizing product, per specs, in preparation for shipment.The ideal candidate will be experienced and qualified to perform a variety of material handling duties related to the production of residential doors.We're interested in hiring individuals who are responsible and are self-motivated.Read/interpret work orders to select the correct materials to move throughout the facilityReceive incoming shipments: verify contents, inspect for damage, and document discrepanciesStore materials in designated locationsPick and pull materials for production and shipmentLoad and unload doors of various weights and sizes into the designated truck trailersConduct cycle counts and perform 5S+1 inventory control dutiesCollect trash and empty dumpstersConduct pre-shift inspection of the forklift to ensure safety and operational complianceProvide safe operation of forklift throughout the facilityMaintain a safe and clean working environmentHelp with door repairs and general housekeepingMaintain an adequate level of product and forklift knowledgeMove components and materials safely and report issues to leadershipWear PPE such as composite/steel toed shoes, safety glasses, earplugs, gloves (per job function), and high visibility clothing.What Makes A Successful OC-BWI Distribution Team Member:Must be at least 18 Years OldAt least one year of experience in a warehouse or manufacturing settingAt least one year of experience operating a forkliftWork safely and follow all plant rulesShow initiative, be a self-starterCommunicate, in English, in a clear and effective mannerWork independently, as well as part of a team, and have end of shift flexibilityRequired to mount and dismount forklift multiple times per dayForklift knowledge and safety proceduresAbility to organize and maintain detailed recordsAbility to work well in a fast-paced environment and have ability to multi-taskRegular attendance and timeliness is an essential function of the job in order to avoid having any disruptions in production and customer serviceAbility to use an RF scannerAbility to use a pallet jack safelyRead a tape measure and do basic mathThere are some essential physical requirements specific to our work environment, including being able to:Stand for 8 - 10 hours straightClimb and descend stairs/ladder as needed for the roleDo repetitive movements (hand, arm, leg; bending and twisting at the waist; bending at the knee; squatting; lift, push and pull 50-pounds)Withstand exposure to temperature extremes; sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortableHandle, control and feel raw materials and finished goodsOur people and products make the world a better place.
