Material Handler

Material HandlerKelly Services is seeking a Warehouse Material Handler responsible for preparing, processing, and shipping customer orders while ensuring accuracy, safety, and on-time delivery. This role supports daily warehouse operations by handling materials, operating warehouse equipment, maintaining inventory accuracy, and adhering to company quality and safety standards.Material Handler (Temp) LOCATION: San Jose, CA RATE: $28.00/hour SHIFT: 1st Shift SHIFT DAYS/HOURS: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - FridayKey ResponsibilitiesPick, pack, and prepare products for shipment according to customer orders and shipping schedules.Verify quantities, part numbers, and product condition before shipment.Load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.Label, package, and stage materials for domestic and international shipments.Generate and process shipping documentation, including packing slips, bills of lading, and carrier paperwork.Coordinate with warehouse, production, and logistics teams to meet shipment deadlines.Maintain accurate inventory transactions using ERP systems.Inspect materials for damage and report discrepancies or quality concerns.Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) and inventory control procedures as required.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.Comply with all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and quality standards.Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and other warehouse activities as needed.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required.1-3 years of warehouse, domestic and international shipments. logistics, or material handling experience preferred.Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.Basic computer skills and experience with warehouse management systems preferred.Ability to read shipping documents, work instructions, and inventory records.Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.Good communication and teamwork skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely.Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures and conditions.Preferred QualificationsForklift certification.Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.Knowledge of shipping carriers and freight procedures.Experience in manufacturing or distribution environments.Key CompetenciesSafety AwarenessAttention to DetailInventory AccuracyTime ManagementTeamworkProblem SolvingDependabilityCustomer Focus
