Material HandlerHiFyve is hiring a Material Handler in the Manufacturing industry in St. Louis, MO!Pay: $20/hrShift: 2nd shift 1pm to 9pm M-FLocation: St. Louis, MOThis role supports extrusion production lines by ensuring materials, equipment, and finished goods are handled safely and efficiently.
You'll play a key role in maintaining production flow, supporting changeovers, and ensuring proper packaging, labeling, and storage of products and scrap materials.Job ResponsibilitiesSupply raw materials and production supplies to extrusion lines using a forkliftComplete final pallet pack-outs per process instruction sheetsWeigh and record A-grade product and scrap on production sheetsMove finished goods to storage areasBackup packing operations during breaksOperate pelletizer (startup, monitor, adjust, and clean as needed)Weigh, label, and transport regrind materialsEnsure all scrap is processed through grinding/re-pelletizing systemsSet up and store auxiliary equipment after production runsAssist with mechanical changeovers on production linesMaintain a clean and organized work environmentEnter maintenance requests for malfunctioning equipmentTroubleshoot issues, prioritize tasks, and take corrective action as neededSafety & ComplianceFollow all plant safety policies, procedures, and guidelinesOperate forklifts and material handling equipment safelyMaintain a clean and hazard-free workspaceQualificationsHigh School Diploma requiredForklift certification required2+ years of experience in manufacturing or industrial environmentsTechnical SkillsAbility to follow complex written instructions with minimal errorsBasic mechanical aptitude and experience with hand toolsExperience operating forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, pallet jacks)Ability to use measuring tools (scales, rulers, calipers)Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office: Excel, Outlook, Access)Core CompetenciesStrong work ethic and reliabilityAbility to manage multiple tasks and stay focused in a fast-paced environmentEffective communication and teamwork skillsProblem-solving ability with logical decision-makingWillingness to assist team members and contribute to team goalsWork Environment & Physical RequirementsManufacturing/warehouse environment with dust, noise, and no A/CWork around hot plastic extrusion equipmentFrequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbingAbility to lift up to 50 lbsHands-on role requiring physical activity throughout the shift
