Material HandlerThis position is responsible for moving product within the facility to its designated and required position and works within the Logistics Department. The duties outlined in this Job Description are expected to be completed in a professional, safe and quality minded manner, and per all Company Policies. Procedures and additional expectations as outlined by position Supervisor.Major Job Responsibilities:Perform job duties in compliance with site safety rules and notify appropriate management of any safety hazards, with the intent of supporting an injury-free work environment.Participate in the company's quality and safety initiativesAbide by job related procedures, work instructions and other guidelines designed to help ensure the quality of the finished product.Transfer materials between trucks, warehouses, and throughout the production floor as necessitated for the smooth flow of productionAccept shipments upon arrival at buildingProvide support as needed to logistics and production staff, mainly in the area of materials transfer, using forklifts, bale clamps, pallet jacks, and other necessary equipmentExamine records such as purchase orders, packing slips, waybills, logs, etc., to ensure completeness of all outgoing shipments and accuracy of recordsMaintain general order and organization of areaAdditional Job-Related Responsibilities:Flexibility in shift schedulingOvertime as required by Supervisor / ProjectProfessional BehaviorProvide Backup in other Company Areas as neededProjects as assignedEnvironmental Consideration / AdherenceMaintain Safe Work Practices / Incident ReportingMentor / Train Co-WorkersCross Train – Other related positions or work areasNight Shift / Day ShiftJob Specific Requirements:Physicality: Able to consistently lift items up to 50 lbs.
Occasionally lift items 50 – 100 lbs. Stand for 8 – 12 hours per shift.
