Material HandlerThe Material Handler provides shipping, receiving, storage, and order fulfillment services for finished goods, inventory, materials, supplies, parts, and equipment at the assigned facility. This role supports daily warehouse operations by accurately handling materials, maintaining inventory integrity, and ensuring that customers receive the correct products within the requested timeframes. The position works on 1st shift, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.ResponsibilitiesPick, pack, sort, arrange, count, store, and process items for storage and shipment in accordance with established procedures and customer requirements.Maintain a high level of accuracy and quality to ensure customers receive the correct products within the requested timelines.Receive materials and finished goods daily and verify that the quality, type, and quantity of materials received are correct.Confirm that appropriate documentation, such as packing lists, is present and accurate for all incoming materials and finished goods.Work effectively in a warehouse environment across multiple temperature zones, including room temperature, cold-room, and freezer-room areas.Safely operate distribution equipment and powered industrial trucks, including equipment used at various heights, in accordance with training and safety procedures.Follow established shipping, receiving, and inventory control procedures to maintain accurate inventory records and support operational efficiency.Understand and interpret team metrics to support continuous improvement and effective performance within the distribution operation.Communicate clearly and professionally with internal team members to support smooth workflow and strong customer service.Consistently follow policies, procedures, and instructions, and meet established schedules and deadlines.Complete all required training and operate in compliance with site distribution standards, including document control and quality policies.Maintain strong attendance and be ready to start work on time each day, supporting reliable and consistent warehouse operations.Adapt to recurring routine work situations while recognizing and addressing deviations from accepted practices.Participate in one-on-one equipment training, on-the-job training, and standard training protocols to build and maintain required skills.Support a safe work environment by following all safety guidelines and handling packaged hazardous materials in accordance with procedures.Essential Skills0–2 years of material handling or related experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.High School Diploma or GED required.Ability to operate powered industrial trucks and other distribution equipment, including equipment used at various heights.Basic knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory control procedures.Ability to consistently and independently follow policies, procedures, and instructions while meeting schedules.Basic computer skills, including the ability to navigate ERP systems, use Outlook, and operate shipping software.Strong communication skills to interact effectively with internal personnel at equivalent levels.Customer service mindset with the ability to support internal and external customer needs.Ability to understand and interpret team metrics to support operational performance.Reliability in attendance and punctuality, with readiness to start work on time daily.Additional Skills & QualificationsSome experience in logistics within a life science or similar industry preferred.Comfort working with packaged hazardous materials in compliance with safety procedures.Ability to adapt to routine, highly repetitive tasks while maintaining focus and accuracy.Willingness to learn through one-on-one instruction, on-the-job training, and standard training protocols.Flexibility to adjust to new assignments with detailed instruction and guidance.Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to deviations from standard practices.Why Work Here?Join a large, well-established organization that offers strong benefits and supports a diverse and inclusive workforce. Work is highly repetitive and involves continuous walking, standing, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds, with routine pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds and regular climbing. The position may occasionally require sitting, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting up to 50 pounds. You may handle packaged hazardous materials following established safety procedures. The noise level is typically moderate to high. You must be available to work any shift with advance notice of shift changes and be flexible to work varying schedules, hours, and overtime as needed. Occasional local travel may be required.
