Material HandlerThe Material Handler unloads and receives incoming raw materials and shipments. Operates powered industrial fork trucks and pallet jacks. Moves materials, supplies, and/or finished goods to designated places in the facility. Maintains computerized records of inventory and follows up on item inventory levels. Ensures all inventory items are properly identified, stored, and readily accessible.

Pulls inventory items according to pick lists. Restocks inventory stores in Manufacturing.Essential Functions, Duties and ResponsibilitiesReceive, verify quantities, store, and issue materials, supplies and equipment.Perform data entry functions to update, edit, and maintain electronic inventory records.Pull from inventory stock job-specific parts and hardware to support Production, Shipping, and Rapid Response needs.Operate fork truck and/or pallet jack to retrieve and move materials and parts, unload trucks, transport, move and stack incoming bunks of board, laminate, and other freight.Read, comprehend, edit, and utilize material pick lists produced by the Electronic Resource Planning (ERP) systems software.Prepare and/or package hardware and other items for shipment to customers, dealers, sales representatives, etc. Pack and ship outgoing packages for other departments as needed.Assist with determination of storage methods and location by factoring temperature, humidity, height/weight limits, turnover, floor load capacities, and space requirements.Inform of shortages, adjustments, spoilage, damage, location / storage changes, or refusal of incoming shipments.Work in manufacturing areas as needed.Maintain 6-S standards.Work in an extremely safe manner, following all safety rules and regulations.Support and uphold the company's values – Teamwork, Integrity, Positive Attitude, Achievement and Growth.Develop teamwork by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all employees and business contacts.Exhibit respect and truthfulness in every interaction, while doing what we say we'll do.Work with enthusiasm, remain optimistic, and seek innovative solutions to problems.Work with focus, discipline, and a sense of urgency to accomplish personal, professional and company goals.Demonstrate an intolerance for complacency and fearlessly pursue new opportunities and innovations.Understand, embrace, and adhere to the principles of continuous improvement.Maintain an acceptable attendance record.Perform other duties as assigned.RequirementsInventory management knowledge.Ability to successfully complete training and receive powered industrial truck license and safely and efficiently operate a fork truck.Strong organizational skills.High attention to detail.Good attendance, work performance, and safety records.Effective communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.Ability to consistently perform manual labor and heavy lifting.Ability to perform within tight schedules, deadlines, and demands.Ability to prioritize and respond to many simultaneous demands and remain focused on overall job tasks and responsibilities.Ability to use personal computers and applicable software applications - production planning, Internet, Word, Excel, and Outlook.Ability to work extra hours as needed, sometimes on short notice.Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, see, and hear. The employee is regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach with hands and arms. The employee regularly lifts items weighing up to 75 pounds and occasionally more.

Shared lifting of heavier items is expected. Minimal travel is required.
