Material HandlerVolt is immediately hiring a Material Handler in Sandusky, MI 48471. As a Material Handler you will:Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site. Reads work order or follows verbal instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
To ship, receive, deliver parts and supplies. Maintain inventory control and locate stock inventory. Drive all material handling equipment including the Hi-Lo and Wave 60 Lift Machine.Essential duties and responsibilities include:Ensures accuracy on incoming receipts by counting items and comparing the packing slip to the purchase order while checking packages for damage.Initiates sales order process by consolidating received items or by staging items for further processing of shipments.Stocking items in correct locations.Delivers and retrieves materials by operating material handling equipment, including Hi-Lo and Wave 60 Lift Machine.Assembles and prepares orders for shipment.Maintains quality service by following organizational standards and departmental processes and procedures.Contributes to a total team effort by being versatile in all areas and functions in the warehouse.Observes established safe working, housekeeping procedures and promptly correct and/or notify supervisor of any hazardous situations.All supplemental duties, responsibilities, or non-essential requirements as assigned.This is a full-time, contract opportunity.Qualifications:High school diploma/GED or 2 years of experience is required.No experience required with high school diploma/GED; 1 year of experience is preferred.Must have valid State Driver's License.Must meet the specific requirements for operating the Hi-Lo and Wave 60 Lift Machine.Ability to be highly organized.Work in a fast-paced environment.Excellent interpersonal skills.Teamwork.Physical demand:While performing duties may be required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, bend, twist or lift, up to 45 pounds.May be required to work more than 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a week based on departmental needs.Working environment:Office and manufacturing environment.May be exposed to manufacturing plant conditions and elements including but not limited to noise, dust, dirt, oil, and grease.PPE's may be required including safety glasses, ear plugs and safety shoes in specified areas of the plant.Shift: 2nd shift (Mon – Thu 4:30 p.m.-3:00 a.m., Fri (OT)-2:30 p.m.-11:00 p.m., Sat (OT)-11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.)Pay Range: $16.36 - $18.36 per hourBenefits: Volt offers benefits (based on eligibility) that include the following: health, dental, vision, term life, short term disability, AD&D, 401(k), Sick time, and other types of paid leaves (as required by law), Employee Assistance Program (EAP).Volt is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits any kind of unlawful discrimination and harassment.
