Material HandlerLocation: College Park GA USA 30337 Duration: 4+ Months Pay range: $20- $21.50/hour On W2 Schedule: Shifts Monday to Friday (overtime may be requested on Saturdays) 7am -3.30pmDescriptionThe Material Specialist (Shipping) may be responsible for any of the functions to support the shipping of material which may include pulling and packing of materials in preparation for customer order processing, maintaining and verifying the records on the incoming and outgoing shipments, prepares the bills of work orders, lading and shipping orders, arranging for shipment with the transportation companies.Duties and ResponsibilitiesAccomplishes the receipt and stocking of materials and verify that the quantity, part numbers or noted substitutions correspond to the packing slip and Purchase Orders.Pulls parts from stock to support Sales Orders using a pick list.Informs Back Office personnel of unknown cross-referenced, superseded or obsolete part numbers.Ensures that inventory transactions (i.e. stock-line issuing and adjustments) are completed upon every material movement.Inspects, packs, labels and weighs the materials for shipment attaching appropriate transport vendor and/or customs paperwork.Identifies and eliminates any outdated, unserviceable or degraded material in the stockroom.Understands Electrostatic Discharge handling and shipping procedures.Understands Shelf and Service Life product dates.Understands and complies with applicable domestic and international shipping restrictions.Enforces stockroom safety and security.Verifies product dimension and weight to select shipping method.Prepares freight quotationsPrepares labels and bills of lading.Verifies and communicates shipping confirmationTracks and monitors all calls from customers regarding shipping.Assists and supports sales, export and warehouse departments.Maintains and updates warehouse scorecards.Resolves issues arising in shipping or inventory handling.Reports any incidents or unsafe conditions immediately.Ensures all safety controls are in place.Ensures compliance to environmental management and systems.Understands and abides by Hazardous Material Shipping regulations.The Material Specialist - Shipping should NEVER process hazardous materials shipment orders - failure to abide by this will result in immediate termination.Willingness to cross train in other functional areas as directed.Flexible with start/finish times as directed by Supervisor or Manager.Education and/or ExperienceHS.
