Material HandlerThe Material Handler duties include shipping, receiving, cycle counting, picking, packing, and/or checking material in the climate-controlled warehouse. This role demands attention to detail and the ability to visibly notice small differences in item numbers.Responsibilities:Adheres to all safety, OSHA guidelines, work rules and policies and focuses daily on housekeeping inside and outside of the facilityMust be present in the workplace and demonstrate commitment, dependability, punctuality and adherence to agreed-upon schedule as determined by ManagerSupports, exhibits and adheres to the VCC Core ValuesUse of computer to print labels and investigate discrepancies in the WMSConduct basic inspection, labelling and wrapping of VCC material in conjunction with the quality assurance departmentPerforms other duties as assignedReceiving:Receives product deliveriesUnload shipping containersScan and stock product accurately, timely, and neatly in its primary locationUtilize handheld scannerPicking:Ensure picking accuracy and quantity rate is maintained at established standardCommunicate picking work order issues (out of stock, location) to Material AdminsCycle Counting:Complete assigned cycle counts, physical inventories, random or receipt audits and reconciliationsResearch and reconcile inventory discrepanciesChecking:Evaluates all shipping material for inaccuracies against pick ticketResponsible for completing clerical tasks such as labeling and tagging boxes to prepare for shipmentPacking:Packs items quickly and properly within the established time limit and standardOperates machines and equipment to assists in packing processRequirements:High School diploma or equivalentA minimum of 6 months to 1 year of full-time industry experience in a warehouse, distribution center, order fulfillment center, logistics, supply chain operations or manufacturing environment required.
