Material HandlerThe material handler is responsible for the physical movement, storage, and management of goods within the shop. The material handler operates forklifts, checks inventory levels, and ensures accurate product placement, all while adhering to safety regulations and maintaining efficient shop operations. The material handler is responsible for building subcomponent jobs for welding and assembly.Responsibilities:Responsible for moving WIP throughout the buildingAccurately record in ProfitFab when work reaches an assembly pointDaily Inspection of Forklift and completing maintenance work order requests as requiredConfirm count and match part to drawings before moving to next stationsMaintain and organize locations for parts waiting to go to weld and assemblyPrint all assembly and weld maps to confirm all parts are present before giving to department (this includes hardware)Reports any material damage or discrepancies to Quality & Purchasing DepartmentMaintains clear in/out locations in each departmentHelp in purchasing department as requested or neededAdhere to all safety protocols related to operating heavy machinery, including proper use of personal protective equipmentWorking hours: 6:00 AM - 4:00 PMSkills:1 - 2+ years experience preferredEducation: No Degree RequiredExperience: 1-4 yearsQualifications:Must be able to drive a Reach TruckAttention to detail: Accurately identifying and recording inventory details, minimizing errorsForklift operation skills: Proficiency in operating a forklift safely and efficientlyBasic computer literacy: Entering data into inventory systems and utilizing warehouse management systemsOrganizational skills: Keeping the warehouse clean and organized, maintaining proper product placementTeamwork: Collaborating with other warehouse staff to meet operational goalsCommunication skills: Effective communication with warehouse staff, drivers, and other departments regarding deliveries and issuesBasic math skills: Ability to calculate quantities and verify order accuracy
