As we enter our next era of growth, we're seeking talented individuals who want to be part of something meaningful while advancing their own professional journey.The Material Handler / Expeditor is a member of the Procurement & Supply Chain Department with the responsibility of facilitating the timely flow of materials to and from various departments, job sites and vendors.Essential Duties And Responsibilities (and other duties as assigned):Expedites transfer of materials as required to or from various freight carriers, or local/statewide project locationsExamines material received, verifies parts numbers, and checks discrepancies such as damaged or unmarked parts; ensures the quality and quantities of goods received are that which was orderedWork and coordinate with vendors and project teams to ensure on time, accurate quality and quantity of good delivered to appropriate locationsReceive goods as required and notate within the organizations ERP systemMaintain inventory: quantity, type of material/parts receive and distributed as they move through receiving locations.Confer with procurement specialists and project managers on orders being tracked to determine overdue materials and parts; and inform those involved of the material status as applicableMove, lift, and handle material shipments as required when offloading company freightProperly identify, package, label and prepare materials for shipment per instructions from the project team, purchase orders or internal tracking documents.Assess materials for shipment to determine if they require handling as hazardous materialsReview and prepare hazardous material declarations, manifests, bills of lading, and other shipping papers as required for transportation to and from company locations, as applicableMaintain records, documents and receipts of shipments for recordkeeping and reporting requirementsSupport the overall organization and control of materials, tools and equipment on company property, including stowage, sorting, loading, unloading and inventory of storage containers and trailersSome use of basic power tools (drills, hammers, and various cutting devices) for assembling shipping crates.Education and/or Experience:High School Diploma or GEDValid Alaska Driver's LicenseAbility to obtain DOT Medical CardCurrent DOT Medical Card is preferredOne to three (1-3) years working as an expeditor or shipping and receivingExperience with Microsoft Office products, and other types of operating software or ERP systems (e.g., Vista Viewpoint, Smartsheet)Current Hazardous Material Transportation DOT/IATA qualification is preferredAbility to operate a variety of equipment (forklift, loader, squirt boom, skid steerWhy ASRC Is Different:Purpose That Matters: You're not just taking a job—you're joining a mission.
