Material HandlerUpdike Distribution Logistics is seeking a reliable and motivated Material Handler to support our fast-paced warehouse operations. This role is responsible for receiving, processing, sorting, and organizing packages while ensuring accuracy, safety, and efficiency in daily operations. The Material Handler plays a key role in maintaining workflow, supporting drivers, and contributing to overall operational success in a 24/7 distribution environment.Key ResponsibilitiesReceive inbound freight and verify shipments for accuracy and conditionProcess, scan, and sort packages using handheld RF scannersOrganize and stage materials for outbound distributionSort and handle packages weighing up to 50 lbsAssist with loading and unloading trailers as needed (Pallet jack, or by hand)Check in drivers and support them in locating and staging assigned materialsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environmentFollow all company safety policies and proceduresCommunicate effectively with supervisors, drivers, and team members to ensure smooth operationsSupport operational needs in a fast-paced, high-volume settingPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periodsFrequent bending, lifting, reaching, and carryingRegularly lift and move packages up to 50 lbsAbility to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperaturesQualificationsPrevious warehouse, distribution, or logistics experience preferredExperience using handheld scanners or warehouse management systems preferredStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentDependable with strong attendance and punctualityAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to pass a background checkSchedule & Compensation24/7 operation – schedule to be determinedEvenings and overnight shifts onlyWeekend availability requiredStarting pay: $17.00 per hourEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
