This Material Handler role supports fulfillment center operations within an aerospace and space exploration environment, performing a broad range of receiving, inventory, warehousing, and logistics functions. The role operates on D Shift (4:00 PM - 4:00 AM, Friday - Sunday) with a one-week training period on A Shift. The contingent worker is expected to actively participate in continuous improvement efforts, support root cause analysis, and operate a variety of heavy equipment and PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) equipment throughout the facility.

- Position Type: Contract
- Contract Duration: 4 months (with potential to extend past 12/31 or convert)
- Pay Rate: $25.10 / Hour (USD)
- Shift / Schedule: D Shift - 4:00 PM - 4:00 AM, Friday - Sunday; Training: 1 week on A Shift

The role operates on D Shift (4:00 PM - 4:00 AM, Friday - Sunday) with a one-week training period on A Shift. The contingent worker is expected to actively participate in continuous improvement efforts, support root cause analysis, and operate a variety of heavy equipment and PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) equipment throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Continuous improvement: Employee must evaluate, monitor, and escalate any roadblock identified while working in a role that can cause a defect downstream. Contingent worker must be able to support a root cause analysis and provide details with problem-solving skills.
- Proper use of equipment: Employee must possess fundamental knowledge and skills in operating heavy equipment, primarily PIT equipment/forklifts. This includes understanding the operational mechanics, safety procedures, and maintenance practices associated with such machinery. Employee must be able to operate any equipment needed to move heavy parts/material throughout the facilities within the sites, including but not limited to: electronic pallet jacks (EPJs), forklifts, reach-trucks, and turret-trucks.
- Receive shipments: Employee must be able to unload shipments delivered by carriers.
- Inspecting shipments: Employee must be able to visually examine packages arriving at the Fulfillment Center and determine if it is acceptable according to a standard operating procedure.
- Quality control checks: Employee must review requirements for each part number and process accordingly to the standard operating procedure.
- Documenting receipts: Employee must be able to use tools and equipment to systematically upload, store, and follow standard operating procedures to completely close out a receipt or work order.
- Data entry: Employee must be able to navigate and select fields within an inventory management tool to input data directly coming from the physical delivery of a part. Employee must be able to navigate through modules and read information as it is needed for a specific task of Fulfillment.
- Packaging: Employee must be able to identify what type of packaging is needed for parts; must be able to properly wrap/store parts with packaging at any stage of the Fulfillment/Manufacturing workflow.
- Sorting and staging: Employee must be able to move packages, boxes, crates, or any storage container while it is identified and secure to prevent loss within the workflow.
- Labeling and marking: Employee must ensure all parts are part labeled and have identifiers outlined in the standard operating procedure in order to analyze parts through the workflow.
- Storage assignment/auditing: Employees must properly store and use good judgment along with the standard operating procedure for the storage of parts that could be individual or in bulk. Employee must be able to audit per a standard operating procedure.
- 2 years of Fulfillment Center Operations experience, including an industry with receiving and inventory functions.
- Must have forklift experience
- Fundamental knowledge and skills in operating heavy equipment, primarily PIT equipment/forklifts, including operational mechanics, safety procedures, and maintenance practices
- Ability to operate electronic pallet jacks (EPJs), forklifts, reach-trucks, and turret-trucks
- Ability to navigate and use an inventory management tool for data entry and task execution
- Problem-solving skills; ability to support root cause analysis and provide details on identified roadblocks
- Safety is a top priority - employee must strictly adhere to established safety protocols and guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), following safe operating procedures, and participating in regular safety training sessions
- Employee must be able to lift 50 lbs.
