Come join Arcwood and be part of our legacy of environmental leadership!Essential Functions & ResponsibilitiesMaterial Handler As a Material Handler you will be responsible for loading, unloading, processing and storing hazardous and nonhazardous waste materials at a permitted waste treatment facility with supervision.Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and consistently maintaining safe practicesLoads, unloads and processes solid and liquid waste safely in accordance with Company, Federal, State and Local rules and regulationsOperates a fork truck and Bobcat with attachmentsDirects liquid waste through a system of pumps to tanks for storagePerforms basic spill cleanup and housekeeping duties as directedPerform chemical compatibility checks to prevent reactions and other issuesUtilizes barcode system equipment to document certain inventory activitiesReviews laboratory data to determine proper handling and disposal of materialsUses Department of Transportation (DOT) knowledge to match and label inbound materials for storage and shipping of containers to other sitesUtilizes proper equipment to remove samples of materials for analysis and compatibility checksOperates a hydraulic baler for cardboard and other materialsMaintains operating areas, walls, pipes, and floors in a clean and safe conditionUtilizes knowledge of applicable EPA, DOT, OSHA and permit regulationsUtilizes Arcwood coding and labeling systems to handle and manage containersUtilizes appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed including boots, gloves, suits, eye/ear protection and a respiratorTakes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organizationEducation- High-school diploma or equivalent (required)Experience1+ years of related experience (required)40-hour HAZWOPER certificate (preferred)Benefits, Compensation & Workforce DiversityArcwood offers competitive pay and bonus incentives.

Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in an annual bonus plan based on company performance.
