Material HandlerThis role combines material handling, shipping and receiving, and inventory control within a clean, modern manufacturing warehouse. You will handle valuable and potentially fragile raw materials, as well as large finished electrical panels, ensuring safe, organized, and accurate movement and storage of inventory. The environment focuses on meeting deadlines, maintaining organization, and proper storage rather than high quotas, and requires careful forklift operation and precise kitting of materials for customer-specific jobs.ResponsibilitiesOperate a sit-down forklift to safely move large electrical control boxes and finished panels, using slow and controlled maneuvers to protect fragile and valuable materials.Utilize RF scanners and basic computer systems to track, locate, and transact inventory movements accurately within electronic inventory tracking systems.Lift, move, and stage boxes and raw materials to assigned inventory locations in an organized and efficient manner.Process incoming materials by confirming part numbers and quantities against purchase orders and shipping documents.Stage materials in designated inventory locations to support manufacturing and production schedules.Pull and identify parts from inventory according to bills of material and job requirements.Accurately kit specified materials and raw components for customer-specific jobs and deliver them to the appropriate production lines or external suppliers in a timely manner.Maintain the warehouse in a clean, safe, and organized condition, following established procedures and safety practices.Read bills of material and accurately transact material movements in the electronic inventory tracking system as required.Assist with physical inventory counts and help maintain accurate inventory records within business systems.Support loading and unloading of trucks, including handling pallets and materials with appropriate equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts.Demonstrate integrity and ethics by modeling the organization's vision, mission, and values in daily work.Show strong customer focus by supporting on-time delivery and accurate material handling for internal and external customers.Collaborate effectively with team members and embrace an inclusive, team-oriented workplace.Produce high-quality work by following procedures, minimizing errors, and ensuring accurate documentation.Participate in continuous improvement by identifying and supporting new and better ways of handling materials and inventory.Manage time and resources effectively to meet deadlines and production schedules.Apply sound judgment in problem solving and decision making related to material flow, inventory discrepancies, and prioritization.Communicate clearly and effectively with supervisors, production staff, and team members regarding material status, issues, and priorities.Essential SkillsAt least 2 years of experience as a Material Handler or Forklift Operator within a manufacturing warehouse environment.Proficiency operating a sit-down forklift in a safe and controlled manner.Hands-on experience with material handling, including loading, unloading, staging, and moving inventory.Ability to use RF scanners to track and manage inventory.Basic computer skills for data entry, inventory transactions, and working within electronic inventory tracking systems.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.Experience with pallet jacks and general warehouse equipment.Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes within a warehouse setting.Strong attention to detail when verifying part numbers, counts, and bills of material.Demonstrated ability to maintain an organized, clean, and safe warehouse environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma or Technical School education preferred but not required.Experience working specifically in a manufacturing warehouse, rather than a distribution center, is preferred.Familiarity with inventory control practices, including cycle counts and physical inventory.Ability to read and understand bills of material and production documentation.Strong time management and productivity skills to meet deadlines and support production schedules.Demonstrated integrity and ethics in handling valuable and fragile materials.Customer-focused mindset, supporting accurate and timely delivery of materials to production and external partners.Collaborative and team-oriented approach, embracing an inclusive workplace.Commitment to producing quality work with minimal errors.Willingness to participate in innovation and continuous improvement activities.Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills for resolving inventory and material flow issues.Clear and professional communication skills, both verbal and written.Why Work Here?Employees enjoy strong long-term earning potential supported by comprehensive group benefits and a stable, well-organized manufacturing environment. The warehouse and production areas are very clean, new, and modernly designed, with comfortable working temperatures. You will work around large electrical panels, raw materials, and standard warehouse equipment such as sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks, and RF scanners. The environment is productive and deadline-focused without being driven by high quotas, emphasizing safety, organization, and proper inventory storage. Dress is typical for a manufacturing and warehouse setting, with appropriate work attire and adherence to safety and protective equipment requirements.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Carol Stream, IL.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
