Material HandlerHere at Scotts Miracle-Gro there is no such thing as a typical day. Scotts/Hawthorne will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.We are looking for a Material Handler who will join our Scotts Miracle Gro team in Linden, CA!The Material Handler works in our Scotts manufacturing facilities.

The person in the Material Handler position is responsible for ensuring organic or chemical materials flow through the shakers and mixers. They may perform housekeeping to insure that material does not accumulate, remove scrap material, and re-stack inventory. They will maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area.What you'll do in this role:Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site, performing any combination of following duties:Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.Opens containers, using steel cutters, crowbar, claw hammer, or other hand tools.Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using hand tools.Conveys materials to or from storage or work sites to designated area, using hand truck, electric dolly, wheelbarrow, or other device.Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination, using hand-operated crane or hoist, or signals crane or hoisting operators to move load to destination.Lifts heavy objects by hand or using power hoist, and cleans work area, machines, and equipment, using broom, rags, and cleaning compounds, to assist machine operators.Makes simple adjustments or repairs, such as realigning belts or replacing rollers, using hand tools.Assembles crates to contain products, such as machines or vehicles, using hand tools and precut lumber.What you'll need to be successful:Willing and able to work any shift schedule, including nights and weekends (shift differential and overtime available) and in any weather conditionsAbility to get your hands dirty in a dusty environmentMust be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including: standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces and lifting at least 50 lbs.Physical ability to climb in and out of equipment and sit for extended periods of timeAble to perform all job functions safelyCoaching and good attitudeWhat we do for you (just to name a few cool ones):Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, holidays, vacation and sick time benefits available within a month of your start dateHealthcare navigation, advocacy and support401(k) company match up to 7.5% with immediate participation and vestingAbility to purchase company stock at a 15% discounted price from market value$600 annual wellness reimbursement programUp to $30,000 to help cover the cost of fertility treatments, adoption or surrogacyUp to 18 weeks of time away to support your growing familyTo view all of our great benefits, click here!* Eligibility for the above benefits may vary based on full-time/part-time status or additional factors.Scotts is an EEO Employer, dedicated to a culturally diverse, drug free workplace.EEO/AA Employer/Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran/Sexual Orientation/Gender IdentityNotification to Agencies :Please note that the Scotts Miracle-Gro company does not accept unsolicited resumes from recruiters or employment agencies.
