Material HandlerAs a Material Handler in our Shipping Department, you'd play a key role in ensuring products are accurately prepared, moved, and shipped to our customers on time. This position is responsible for handling finished goods, operating material handling equipment, maintaining organized inventory, and supporting a safe and efficient shipping operation. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. We are currently seeking a candidate to join our 2nd shift shipping team!Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items, or signals machine operators to move materials onto and off trucks, ships, and loading docksReads and understands the job ticket and other special instructions before beginning the assigned jobObtains and records accurate counts of finished products, goods, and materials to be shipped and for those receivedPacks materials in a manner that will ensure delivery without damage, following job jacket and/or customer packing specificationsIdentifies contents and number of pieces of shipments on all boxes, cartons, or skids, using proper labeling methodsChecks accuracy of all shipping and receiving documentsUtilizing the shipping system to process shipments, including packages and skidsScheduling delivery trucks for on-time shipmentsAll other duties as assignedRequirements1 - 3 years of previous material management experience preferredSafely operate a forklift, pallet jack, and any other lift equipment required for the job (following appropriate training)Full comprehension in reading work instructions and business memosEffective communications skills with all levels within the organizationAbility to use basic math skills, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, measurements and critical thinking, to solve practical problemsAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formMust have the ability to work effectively in stressful situations and meet stringent deadlinesBe organized and able to plan, prioritize and follow through on projects assigned with minimal supervisionHas basic computer skills.Physical RequirementsRequires use of proper body mechanics with pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, squatting, kneeling and bendingRequires the ability to sit and stand for 8 + hours per day, with the ability to navigate on and off a forklift multiple times per day.Ability to lift 25lbs frequently and up to 50lbs occasionallyMittera is a leading-edge company that provides commercial and digital printing, finishing, graphic design, data analytics, direct mail processing, and fulfillment services.
