Material Handler - 2nd Shift

Job TitleTo perform tasks necessary for maintaining continuous materials supply at each machine to enable efficient operations without disruption due to lack of materials. 2nd shift 3:45 pm - 12:16 am. (Training will be on 1st shift - 7:30 am - 4:00 pm)Job DutiesMaintains a clean and orderly work area/warehouseMaintains a safe working environment by following all company safety policies and procedures and reports unsafe conditions and incidentsMaintains company's quality standardsReads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be movedOpens containersLoads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by handConveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area.Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination or signals crane or hoisting operators to move load to destinationCounts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheetAttaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containersLoads truckStacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles togetherRemoves samples of materials and labels with identifying informationLifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, and cleans work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operatorsOperates industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and productsJob QualificationsHigh school diploma or Equivalent (GED)One to two years of experience in a related fieldBasic computer knowledgeExceptional attention to detail and good follow-up skillsMust possess good problem solving skillsAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writingWillingness to work as team member or independentlyTranscendia is an equal opportunity employer and will consider all candidates for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
