Material Handler 1st ShiftFull-time Position Type: Permanent Shift: Day ShiftJob DescriptionBase pay rate is $17.50 per hour1st Shift: 6:00AM - 2:30PM, Monday - Friday, hours may vary depending on operationsThis is a position with the potential overtime. The shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours long depending on work orders for the day and season of the year.Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform packaging and float loading activities to optimize multiple loads for delivery coordination.Perform material handling and machine/equipment operation duties in a safe and efficient manner to fulfill customer orders and business requirements.Ensure machine and equipment is operating properly.Complete orders safely, accurately, timely and without damage.Inspect materials, products, machinery, tools and equipment.Assist with inventory management activities including daily updates to the ERP system.Use of PPE as required (safety glasses, gloves, sleeves, steel/composite toe shoes).Perform routine preventive maintenance, adjustments, and lubrication on equipment and production tools as required to maintain proper operation.Operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment in a safe and responsible mannerLoad and unload materials from machines, trucks, trailers, and storage locationsTransport raw materials, WIP, and finished goods to designated areasVerify materials against paperwork, labels, or system recordsStage materials for production, shipping, or storagePerform Daily basic equipment inspections and report mechanical issuesFollow all safety rules, traffic patterns, and OSHA requirementsMaintain a clean and organized work areaAssist with inventory counts and material audits as neededAssist in other areas/departments as directed/assignedQualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDA minimum of (1) one year of related work experience in a manufacturing environmentMust be able to become certified to operate a forklift vehicle, overhead crane, yard mule and side loadersAbility to work in a non-temperature- controlled environmentExperience with side forklift, bander, nail gun, overhead crane, saws, stretch wrap machine, and various pneumatic equipment preferred, not requiredAbility to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waistGood attitude and team orientedValid Driver's LicenseAdditional InformationSite Address: 7301 Fairview St, Houston, TX 77041This is a position with the potential overtime.
