Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Material Coordinator to support material movement, inventory organization, and material-handling activities within a manufacturing environment.

The Material Coordinator will oversee and coordinate material handlers across production-floor tool cribs and storage areas, ensuring the accurate collection, relocation, classification, and tracking of spare parts and MRO inventory.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and assign daily tasks to material handlers across production-floor tool cribs and storage areas.
• Review pending material requests and ensure the availability of material-handling resources and equipment.
• Identify excess, misplaced, and obsolete materials across production and storage areas.
• Coordinate the collection and relocation of spare parts and MRO materials to designated storage locations.
• Sort and classify materials as new, refurbishable, recyclable, obsolete, or requiring disposal.
• Ensure materials are stored in appropriate locations and maintain an organized production-floor environment.
• Maintain material movement tracking sheets and inventory records using Microsoft Excel.
• Update inventory and material-location information in SAP or other inventory management systems.
• Coordinate with production supervisors, operators, maintenance personnel, and material handlers.
• Monitor daily material-handling activities and provide direction to team members.
• Assist with material movement and material-handling equipment operation when required.
• Identify inventory discrepancies and support inventory accuracy and stockroom organization.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory control and material management.

Required Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience coordinating, directing, or overseeing the work of others.
• Experience in warehouse, manufacturing, material handling, or inventory-related operations.
• Basic computer skills, including data entry and inventory recordkeeping.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel for inventory tracking and reporting.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication, coordination, and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work onsite in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a tool crib, maintenance storeroom, MRO inventory, or spare parts management environment.
• Experience operating or working with material-handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Familiarity with SAP, ERP, CMMS, or other inventory management systems.
• Knowledge of inventory tracking, material classification, and stockroom organization.
• Experience identifying excess or obsolete inventory and coordinating recycling, refurbishment, or disposal.
• Previous experience supporting manufacturing, maintenance, or production operations.

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Equivalent relevant work experience may be considered.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk frequently through production, warehouse, and maintenance areas.
• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 30 lbs.
• Ability to assist with material movement and inventory organization.
• Ability to operate material-handling equipment or obtain the required certification.
