Position Summary
Person in this position is responsible for supervision, management, and provision of Psychiatric / MAT services for the Residential Program and the MAT Outpatient Programs, as well as for conducting the History and Physical for the Residential Program.
Essential Job Functions
- Conduct initial comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and psychotropic medication management for specified programs.
- Conduct the admission History and Physical for the Residential Program.
- Consistently implement the Medical Clearance Procedure (MCP).
- Prescribe medications for patients within scope of practice.
- Review laboratory results and make appropriate recommendations or referrals.
- Develop protocols and determine medication needs to manage expected pharmacological interventions.
- Work closely with the Admissions Department to ensure smooth patient care and consistent implementation of MCP.
- Participate in clinical staffing decisions regarding patients’ strengths, resources, and additional needs.
- Complete documentation of services in EHR in a timely manner.
- Provide input into patients’ treatment needs and disposition.
- Assist other WestCare staff in a collaborative manner to promote integration, cooperation, and a professional image to the community.

- Ability to log on to EFORSCE.
- Active or ability to obtain Florida Medicaid Provider Number and Medicare Provider Number.
- Experience as a provider in a mental health/substance abuse treatment facility.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Familiarity with communities served (Broward and Dade County).
- Vaccine compliance as required by local, state, federal, and funding agencies; Human Resources will provide information as necessary.
Licensure / Certification
- Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Florida.
- Active DEA license.
- Active NPI number.
Working Conditions
- Work performed primarily in a professional office at the Pembroke Pines Campus with services delivered face‑to‑face or via telehealth.
- Some travel may be required.
Physical and Mental Demands
Required physical activity includes standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 10 pounds; use of computer and telephone systems; defensive skills in abusive situations. Requires hearing, vision, and the ability to collect and analyze complex data, work under stress, and collaborate with clients, staff, and the public.
