MAT Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant ) Grand Junction, Colorado

Job Summary Medix is partnering with a premier healthcare facility to recruit a dedicated Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. In this role, you will deliver direct clinical care and deliver personalized treatment plans for individuals navigating substance use disorders. This position operates in a fast-paced, high-volume, and autonomous outpatient clinic setting, making it an ideal fit for a provider comfortable functioning with minimal supervision.

Compensation Competitive Compensation: $115,000 - $140,000/yr

Schedule

Monday through Friday: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM

Rotational Saturdays: One Saturday per month (Transitions to a remote telehealth shift following the completion of 3 months of initial training)

Key Responsibilities

Direct Clinical Care: Perform comprehensive medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations to guide treatment entry and monitor long-term recovery progress.

Medication Management: Responsibly prescribe and monitor MAT medications, including oral and injectable formulations of buprenorphine and naltrexone. Ensure precise dosing, clinical adherence, and safety profiling.

Clinical Interventions: Competently administer intramuscular medical injections as required by specific treatment protocols.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Partner closely with an integrated team of physicians, behavioral health counselors, peer support specialists, and clinical staff to execute highly individualized recovery plans.

Patient Education: Guide patients through the science of substance use disorders, MAT process logistics, healthy coping strategies, and return-to-use prevention techniques.

Compliance & Records: Document clinical encounters concurrently and accurately within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system while maintaining full compliance with state, federal, HIPAA, and controlled substance regulations.

Qualifications & Skills

Education: Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)

Licensure: Active, unrestricted license to practice as an NP or PA in Colorado, along with a valid DEA registration (or open to obtaining).

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Provider is preferred.

Core Competencies: Exceptional patient rapport-building abilities, strong diagnostic reasoning, comfort working in a fast-paced outpatient clinic, and a strong commitment to championing the health of underserved patient demographics.
