Hours for this 4-day, 10 hour position are Sunday-Wednesday from 3:30 pm to 1:30 am.Job DescriptionEssential Duties:Performs complex repair or installation on University facilities and property using expertise acquired through specialized training in a skilled trade (plumbing)Reviews job orders and blueprints or drawings; inspects site and consults with client; determines best method to complete projectEstimates amount of materials and equipment needed to complete project; arranges for materials to be at job siteAssists outside contractors as needed; assists crafts-persons from other trades as neededMaintains and cleans tools and equipment; maintains work area in a clean and orderly mannerMay prepare some paperwork; may maintain filesMinimum Qualifications:Requires nine months training beyond high school in a skilled trade and three years of experience in that trade, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Requires a valid driver's license and the ability to be a qualified driver under the Universities MVR policy.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of the procedures and equipment of a particular skilled tradeMechanical aptitudeAbility to read and understand blueprints and/or mechanical diagramsWorking ConditionsFrequent standing and walking with some climbing and lifting of materials weighing 50 to 75 pounds.
