Responsibilities
- Operate mobile cranes safely and efficiently, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Assist in planning and preparing for scheduled lifting jobs, ensuring all equipment and personnel are ready.
- Provide operational and technical guidance to team members and participate in training and mentoring new operators and apprentices.
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting of crane equipment.
- Support site management in safety programs, including behavioral audits, JSA's, SOP's, and near-miss reporting.
- Assist in developing and managing departmental budgets, including maintenance and capital expenditures.
- Participate in the selection process for certified and master crane operators.
- Comply with environmental policies and contribute to a safe, productive work environment.
- Perform additional duties as required to support operational excellence.
- Minimum of four years of experience operating large mobile cranes (150 ton capacity or greater) or equivalent work experience.
- Completion of an Apprenticeship Program or a two-year Associate's Degree in a mechanical field from an accredited college.
- Certified Crane Operator certification, including passing written, practical, and panel interviews.
- Extensive knowledge of rigging procedures, cable reeling, crane load testing, and preventative maintenance practices.
- Proficiency with hydraulic equipment, blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft applications.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime in a 24/7 operation.
- Excellent safety record, physical ability to perform manual tasks, and ability to pass annual physicals.
