To support the underwriting of a nationwide portfolio, the full-time Massachusetts Licensed Underwriter will manage the renewal of Middle Market accounts, demonstrating leadership and negotiating skills while working in a hybrid or remote environment. Key responsibilities Underwrite and retain Middle Market renewal accounts, managing a portfolio of 120-160 annual accounts with an average premium of $16M-$20M Develop and implement portfolio management strategies to enhance profitability and drive business results Build and maintain agency relationships while identifying cross-sell opportunities and addressing marketplace trends Required qualifications Massachusetts Licensed Underwriter designation Experience in underwriting, specifically within Middle Market or similar sectors Strong negotiation and sales skills, with a focus on customer advocacy Knowledge of marketplace factors, industry trends, and regulatory environments Ability to analyze and articulate underwriting decisions and strategies effectively
