Airbus Engineering PositionThe employee is responsible for performing detailed estimating and analysis tasks supporting impacts to aircraft weight and balance.Our Engineers have the privilege of working on complex, highly engineered machines and are involved at all stages of the aircraft life cycle, from product development to manufacturing and direct support to our airline customers. If you're interested in designing, creating, and testing the present and future of Airbus products across the globe, join our mission to connect the world.The Engineering Center in Mobile, Alabama houses hundreds of Airbus engineers who assist in the design and development of Airbus commercial aircraft cabins, including aftermarket upgrades, reconfigurations and services of all product types across the globe.Your challenges:Flammability Certification and ComplianceEstablish and support control methods for weight and balance of in process and completed assemblies and installations.Support actual weight and balance of aircraft, direct interfacing with various organizations within completions.Track and maintain all mass properties information and support maturing of internal processes.Solves typical engineering problems within assigned discipline.Provides technical assistance to engineering staff and contributes to completion of project milestones.Responsible for a complex engineering assignment, or a full project of lesser complexity.Follows established schedules while developing plans for engineering assignments.Obtains appropriate level of supervisor approvals for work accuracy and adequacy.Proficiently applies company/organization policies and procedures.Strong liaison with other departments both internally and internationally.Actively works to improve daily processes, and ensures all work meets customer requirementsMaintains a current and up-to-date knowledge of developments and application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in assigned fields of expertise.Lead digitalization improvement projects within engineering teams, develop efficient methods to automate work and processes.Participate in activities to utilize AI in daily work and processes.Participate in group activity with Global Airbus to stay aligned with global processes and digitalization.Additional ResponsibilitiesBachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering (Aero, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical)Minimum three (3) years plus experience in aircraft compliance experience.Ability to write reports, technical memorandums, interface agreements, and work statements using high-level technical English.The level of technical skills and abilities appropriate for this grade will be established by each discipline.Applies knowledge to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity, using a combination of judgment with defined practices and procedures.Works under general supervision for routine tasks of minor complexity.Clear and in-depth knowledge of Aircraft Mass Properties and flight physics calculations and analysis.Proficient level of the English language.Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively in an international setting that resolves problems, facilitates consensus, and focuses on objectives.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, bills of material, compliance documentation, and technical documentation.Proficiency in Google Suites Products.Authorized to Work in the USUses information from contact network to problem solve and secure aircraft delivery and development.Applies knowledge to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity, using a combination of judgment with defined practices and procedures.Works under general supervision for routine tasks of minor complexity.With supervision/mentorship, can coordinate the activities for lower-level engineering staff.Travel RequiredInternational or Domestic Travel: 5%Physical RequirementsVision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings. DailyHearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms. DailySpeaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.

DailyEquipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts. DailyCarrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. RarelyLifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. RarelyPushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.

DailySitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer. DailySquatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving. DailyStanding: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor. DailyTravel: able to travel independently and at short notice.

RarelyWalking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces. DailyPersonal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to:Safety ShoesSafety GlassesAdministrative position only PPE required:Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visitAdditional Physical Requirements:Be able to walk up and down stairs.
