Position Summary
The Marketing & Patient Engagement Associate is responsible for developing and executing patient-facing and general marketing communications that support Eximia Clinical Research's patient engagement, study enrollment, brand awareness, and community outreach initiatives.
The position serves as a key content and campaign execution resource within the Marketing team, with particular emphasis on copywriting, email marketing, newsletters, database-wide SMS/text communications, general advertising content, patient engagement campaigns, and marketing collateral development .
The ideal candidate is an excellent writer who can translate complex clinical research and healthcare information into clear, engaging, patient-friendly communications while maintaining accuracy, appropriate regulatory standards, and Eximia’s brand voice.
This role works closely with the Marketing Manager, Digital Marketing Manager, Patient Enrollment Operations, and Site teams.
1. Copywriting & Content Development
Develop clear, compelling, audience-appropriate copy for:
- Email communications
- SMS/text campaigns
- Newsletters
- Website and landing-page content
- General advertisements
- Community outreach materials
- Flyers and brochures
- Physician-facing communications
- Internal marketing materials
- Video and digital advertising scripts
Adapt messaging based on audience, including patients, caregivers, physicians, community organizations, and other healthcare stakeholders.
Maintain a consistent Eximia brand voice across communications.
Coordinate and execute communications to Eximia’s patient database, including:
- Study opportunity announcements
- Seasonal campaigns
- Educational communications
- Company newsletters
- Community event invitations
- General research awareness campaigns
Responsibilities include drafting content, coordinating appropriate audience segmentation, campaign scheduling, proofreading, testing, deployment, and post-campaign reporting.
3. SMS/Text Messaging Campaigns
Develop and coordinate patient database SMS campaigns supporting:
- New study opportunities
- Community events
- Research awareness
- Recruitment initiatives
- Other approved patient engagement programs
Ensure communications follow established organizational policies regarding patient consent, opt-out requirements, privacy, and approved messaging practices.
4. Newsletter Development
Own the production process for recurring patient/community newsletters.
Responsibilities include:
- Topic identification
- Copywriting and editing
- Coordination of graphics
- Internal content collection
- Proofreading
- Distribution
- Basic performance reporting
Develop content that helps maintain a long-term relationship between Eximia and individuals in its patient/community database— not simply communications related to currently enrolling studies.
5. Advertising & Campaign Content
Develop creative concepts and copy for general patient recruitment and brand advertising, including:
- Digital advertisements
- Social media advertisements
- Print advertisements
- Community advertising
- Flyers
- Posters
- Direct mail
- Video scripts
- Site-specific campaigns
6. Community & Local Site Marketing Support
Support the Marketing Manager and individual sites with:
- Community events
- Local partnerships
- Local advertising
- Site-specific marketing materials
Develop reusable templates and toolkits that can be adapted across Eximia locations.
8. Marketing Calendar & Campaign Coordination
Maintain an organized marketing communications calendar covering:
- SMS campaigns
- Newsletters
- Social content
- Community initiatives
- Seasonal campaigns
- Corporate communications
Coordinate deadlines and approvals across relevant stakeholders.
9. Campaign Measurement
In collaboration with the Digital Marketing Manager and Patient Enrollment Operations, track basic engagement metrics including:
- Email open and click-through rates
- Unsubscribe/opt-out rates
- Campaign responsesLeads generated
- Campaign-to-screening/enrollment conversion where measurable
Use performance information to continuously improve messaging.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, Public Relations, Healthcare Communications, or related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of marketing, communications, copywriting, or content-development experience.
- Exceptional written English and editing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to write concise and engaging consumer-facing content.
- Experience developing email campaigns, newsletters, social content, or similar communications.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously.
- Strong organizational and project-management skills.
Preferred
Experience in one or more of the following:
- Clinical research
- Health systems
- Digital health
- Healthcare advertising agency
Experience communicating healthcare concepts to consumer audiences is particularly desirable.
