Marketing and Digital Engagement Associate

The internationally renowned Mark Morris Dance Group (MMDG) is seeking a Marketing and Digital Engagement Associate to support integrated marketing and content strategies that strengthen the visibility and reputation of Artistic Director/Choreographer Mark Morris, the touring Mark Morris Dance Group and Music Ensemble, and the organization’s education and community engagement programs. The role reports to the Director of Marketing & Communications and focuses on social media, website management, and a website redesign.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media

  • Create and curate content for social media channels, including filming and editing.
  • Implement strategies to grow audience reach and engagement across all channels.
  • Create paid advertising content for Dance Group, Dance Center, and Dance for PD programs.
  • Coordinate with the Dancer Liaison to capture content and facilitate monthly check‑ins.
  • Analyze and report monthly results across social media channels.
  • Optimize tactics based on performance reports.
  • Monitor emerging trends and platform updates and integrate them into content.
  • Collaborate with faculty to highlight important dates, awareness months, and upcoming events.
  • Coordinate with presenters and partners on customer social content and plans.

Web

  • Serve as the web lead, ensuring the main website is up to date and managing content with staff.
  • Support the current website redesign, implementing and testing changes before launch.
  • Keep microsites current and accurate in collaboration with other departments.
  • Troubleshoot website issues, liaise with the external agency, and plan future project revisions.
  • Manage the organization’s Google Business account and respond to reviews promptly.
  • Monitor Google Alerts and press updates related to the Mark Morris Dance Group.
  • Upload and update new classes, workshops, and intensives with The School and Adult Programs teams.
  • Ensure partner organizations’ information on the website is accurate and up to date.

Communications

  • Create and execute email campaigns within Salesforce for Adult Programs, The School, and Operations.

General Marketing

  • Assist the marketing team with email marketing, press asset maintenance, and other tasks as needed.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in a marketing role, preferably focusing on social media and website management.
  • Experience with social media management platforms such as Hootsuite, Sprout Social, or ContentCal.
  • Experience using content management systems, preferably WordPress.
  • Experience with Google Analytics.

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements

  • Knowledge of major social media platforms and best practices for audience engagement.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro), and Canva.
  • Creative, resourceful, and entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive, hands‑on approach.

Schedule

This is a full‑time, non‑exempt 40‑hour per week, onsite position. A flexible hybrid schedule may be considered after a six‑month onsite introductory period.

Pay Range

$46,000 – $52,000 USD
