Don Gato Tequila - Virginia Market Manager

The Market Manager is responsible for the in-market execution of brand and sales strategies for the Don Gato Tequila portfolio.

We are seeking driven storytellers who want to play an active, hands-on role in building a brand from the ground up. This is an opportunity to shape brand voice and strategy in real time, not just discuss ideas, but execute them.

Don Gato is a premium, award-winning tequila brought to life by Danny McBride. It's made good, for cool times. The Blanco won Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, and the Reposado won Gold with 95 points at the New York International Spirits Competition. The liquid backs up the attitude.

We're a fast-growing, founder-led brand building real momentum across the Southeast and beyond. We move fast, we have fun, and we win account by account. Now we're looking for a Virginia leader to own the market and build it from the ground up.

Core Responsibilities

• Drive market growth. Build distribution, awareness, and relevance among target consumers/accounts; hit sales, depletion, and activation goals
• Own key accounts. Develop and manage relationships with high image On & Off Premise accounts; track KPIs (placements, training, velocity)
• Lead in-market execution. Ensure excellent POS, menu, and feature/display execution; maintain best-in-class shelf position and adjacencies
• Activate the brand. Plan and execute all Don Gato activations (tastings, dinners, events); maintain activation calendar and budget
• Educate & influence. Train bartenders/staff; cultivate key influencers (owners, managers, opinion-makers)
• Partner with distribution. Build strong broker/distributor salesforce relationships
• Stay market-savvy. Identify new business opportunities; monitor and report competitor activity (pricing, trends, ads)

Qualifications and Experience

• 3-5 years experience as a spirits supplier and/or distributor representative
• Spirits industry training and experience in Brand Activation
• Strong financial acumen able to manage price structures and understand distributor profit and margins to recommend retail pricing
• Self-motivated, driven, independent, entrepreneurial
• Hospitality experience a plus
• Market and trade relationships
• Confident public speaker with in-depth spirits knowledge
