As a Marine Engineering Instructor, you will play a key role in shaping the next generation of maritime professionals. This position involves sharing your knowledge and expertise with individuals pursuing careers at sea.
Key Responsibilities
- Instruction: Deliver high-quality maritime education and training courses that meet international standards for seagoing competence.
- Assessment: Conduct STCW assessments of competence in accordance with approved course documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen, permanent resident, or legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Experience, training, or verifiable instruction in effective teaching techniques, or
- Completion of a 40-hour Train-the-Trainer or Assessor course (reimbursement may be available through the training center).
- A minimum of three years of experience as a Chief Engineer of motor vessels with a minimum power of 3,000 kW / 4,000 HP and a manned engine room, or equivalent military experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a maritime instructor.
- Strong understanding of maritime regulations and international standards.
- Familiarity with maritime simulation tools and training technologies.
- Experience as a Chief Engineer on motor vessels with unlimited propulsion.
- Teaching or instructional certification.
