Position: Manufacturing Technician I
Job Type: Contract - 6 months
Location: Hopkinton, MA

Job Summary
The Manufacturing Technician will perform functions associated with manufacturing operations, including electro-mechanical assembly, equipment/subassembly testing, rework, quality testing, process adjustments and supporting engineering activities.
The role involves working with engineers on equipment setup, calibration, assembly protocols, fixtures, experiments and new product development. The technician will work under general supervision while following established manufacturing procedures and detailed work instructions.
Key Responsibilities
• Assemble and repair complex technical electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Test functionality of equipment and subassemblies.
• Perform soldering and detailed assembly work.
• Follow SOPs, work orders and photographic work instructions.
• Identify deviations from accepted manufacturing practices.
• Support engineering teams with assembly protocols, equipment and fixtures.
• Assist with experiments and new product development.
• Work in a cleanroom environment.
• Maintain product quality and meet on-time delivery expectations.
• Minimize waste and maintain inventory within the work cell.
• Participate in Lean and 5S activities.
• Support continuous process improvement initiatives.
• Cross-train on processes within and across product lines.
Required Qualifications
• High school diploma required.
• 1 2+ years of experience in manufacturing or a related field.
• Hands-on soldering experience.
• Experience with electro-mechanical assembly.
• Ability to follow detailed manufacturing procedures and work instructions.
• Ability to perform assembly, rework and functional testing.
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior GMP manufacturing experience.
• Cleanroom manufacturing experience.
• Knowledge of machinery and basic mechanics.
• Lean manufacturing experience.
• 5S experience.
• ISO knowledge.
• Basic understanding of engineering drawings.
• Experience with instrumentation.
• SAP or similar ERP experience.
• Microsoft Word/Excel experience.
• Experience supporting continuous improvement or new product development.
