This role is responsible for independently setting up, programming, and operating DMG-Mori multi-axis CNC machining centers to produce large, high-precision components. This is a senior-level position requiring strong technical judgment, the ability to solve complex machining challenges, and the capability to lead and mentor others. The successful candidate is expected to achieve independent productivity shortly after onboarding and contribute to process improvements and operational excellence.

This role offers a potential career path toward Manufacturing Team Lead or Manufacturing Engineer, with company-supported development and advancement opportunities.Key Responsibilities and Qualifications:Independently set up and operate 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machining centers (vertical and/or horizontal)Perform complex machining operations including roughing, finishing, and precision boringMachine large, complex components (>4,000 lbs) to tight tolerances (±0.0005")Develop and modify CNC programs using conversational and G-code programmingRead and interpret G-code/M-code to troubleshoot and optimize toolpathsCollaborate on or independently create machining strategies for complex partsLead or drive process improvements to reduce setup time, cycle time, and scrapInterpret complex blueprints and GD&T with multiple datumsPerform in-process and final inspections to ensure conformance to the drawingAccurately measure large features (up to 25+ inches) using advanced metrology equipmentTrain and mentor machinists and operators across multiple work centersServe as a technical resource and role model for machining best practicesApply lean manufacturing principles (SMED, 5S, value stream mapping, etc.)Identify and resolve machining issues using root cause analysisAdvanced understanding of machining principles, materials, and cutting dynamicsExpertise in multi-axis machining and workholding strategiesHigh competency with precision measurement instrumentsDemonstrated initiative, problem-solving ability, and technical leadershipRequired Education and Experience:High School Diploma or equivalent (Technical School preferred)5+ years of CNC machining experience, including significant 5-axis machiningProven ability to hold tolerances of ±0.0005"Experience with complex setups and independent programmingCompensation Range$27.10 - $40.65 hourly plus applicable shift differential.
