Manufacturing Systems & Process Engineer
Position Summary
The Manufacturing Systems & Process Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining manufacturing processes and production systems to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency. This position works closely with production, maintenance, quality, and automation teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and new product launches within a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment.
Essential Responsibilities
• Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to maximize productivity and operational efficiency.
• Develop and implement process improvements using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Support the launch of new products, equipment, and production lines from planning through mass production.
• Design, document, and maintain standardized work instructions and manufacturing procedures.
• Monitor production performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to process, quality, and equipment issues.
• Collaborate with maintenance and automation teams to improve equipment reliability and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Evaluate production capacity, cycle times, and line balancing to optimize throughput.
• Support manufacturing system integration, process validation, and equipment commissioning.
• Utilize manufacturing data to prepare reports, analyze trends, and recommend improvements.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, customer requirements, and quality management systems.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects and cross-functional engineering initiatives.
Qualifications
Required
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of manufacturing or process engineering experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, machining operations, and production systems.
• Ability to analyze production data and solve complex technical problems.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
Preferred
• Experience with automotive Tier-1 manufacturing operations.
• Experience with ERP or MES systems.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent certification.
• Bilingual in English and Korean is a plus.
