Manufacturing Project Engineer 2Manufacturing Technology & Solutions has an opening for a Manufacturing Project Engineer 2 position. The Manufacturing Project Engineer 2 role will have a focus on technical process support for component machining requirements, enterprise process optimization that includes managing new capital introduction. The candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise required to design, develop, and implement manufacturing processes/systems related to machining and grinding of various components across the enterprise.

Incumbent will interface directly with multiple teams including Engineering, Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain, Product Change Control and Safety. In this role you will work both independently and as part of a team to maintain and improve processes and systems used in manufacturing. In addition, Manufacturing Engineers function as specialists and subject matter experts for the technical planning capable of meeting and/or exceeding customer requirements.Job Duties/Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:Implement creative solutions and validate effectiveness of changes including documentation and training of those improvements.Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to address Safety, Quality, Velocity, and Cost opportunities identified through projects.Analyze and recommend current and future systems, procedures, training, and equipment needs based upon understanding and communication with shop floor operators, Operations staff, Safety and CPPD with design engineering.Evaluate supplier capabilities, work on RFQ process, determine prime path and go through the capital introduction process.Document and develop risk assessment, project plans and set cadence to the capital management and governance processBasic Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering12+ years of manufacturing engineering experienceThorough knowledge of component machining and grinding concepts.Thorough knowledge of manufacturing concepts (Lean Manufacturing, 6-Sigma, in process validations (IPVs), Poka-Yoke design, System/Tooling Controls, etc.)Thorough experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)Experience with reading and interpreting engineering printsTop Candidates Will Also Have:Experience with designing requirements and managing implementation of capital assetsExperience with CQMS certification requirements, NPI, APQP, and PPAP processes (Control Plans, PFMEA, Process Flow Diagrams)Able to build strong relationships with various stakeholders at all levelsBackground in DMAIC, Lean PrinciplesExperience with Siemens NX and CNC programmingExperience with machine tool connectivityExperience with gear machining and grinding processesExperience with machining hardened steel componentsThe location for this position is Lafayette, IN.
