Manufacturing Project Engineer
12-Month+ Contract Onsite
1st Shift Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM ET
Our client, a global leader in the medical device industry, is seeking a Manufacturing Project Engineer for a 12-month+ contract opportunity.
This position will provide engineering and project support for manufacturing operations, including process improvements, new product introductions (NPI), new equipment and process implementation, continuous improvement, and cost-reduction initiatives .
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support for manufacturing processes, projects, and operations.
- Support new product introductions (NPI) and new equipment/process implementation.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and cost.
- Support manufacturing projects from planning through implementation.
- Apply engineering principles to troubleshoot manufacturing and process issues.
- Analyze manufacturing data and recommend process improvements.
- Support continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives .
- Review technical documentation and engineering drawings.
- Work cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and other teams.
- Apply technical knowledge to improve manufacturing workflows and processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures, and systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to apply engineering judgment with minimal supervision.
- Experience with technical writing and engineering drawing evaluation.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with engineering or manufacturing software.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Experience
- Medical device manufacturing experience.
- Internship or co-op experience in manufacturing, engineering, or project-based work .
- Experience working on engineering projects through internships, co-ops, school projects, or extracurricular activities.
- Exposure to manufacturing processes, automation, or robotics .
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement principles.
- Experience with Microsoft Project, Excel, or other project management tools .
Recent engineering graduates with relevant manufacturing internship or co-op experience are encouraged to apply.
