Production Superintendent/Production ManagerLocation: Southern, New Jersey (Camden County) - 1/2 hour outside of PhiladelphiaRelocation Assistance AvailableBase Salary: $114,700 to $150,000Industry: Building MaterialsJob Category: Manufacturing - Plant ManagementThe Production Superintendent is responsible for overseeing product manufacturing, finished product quality and raw material management for single-line in a 24-hour manufacturing process, as well as employee training and development. This role is critical to the success of the 24/7 manufacturing site.The position leads the production function and directly manages a team of 4 Production Supervisors, 2 Engineers, and 2 Process Engineering Technicians with overall responsibility for 118 Production Employees out of a 230-person site.The Production Manager will play a key leadership role in driving operational performance, accountability, and continuous improvement initiatives.This individual will partner closely with a technical team (Plant Engineer/Process Engineer), ensuring alignment between production execution and process optimization.Key Responsibilities & Expectations:Manage product manufacturing, finished product quality and raw material management for the operationSupervise manufacturing resources to meet production goals and assist in preparation of budgets and standards for cost measurementDevelop and administer material and labor usage controls and metricsLead and develop a team of supervisors to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production outputDrive accountability across the production organization, setting clear expectations and following through on commitmentsOwn and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs), demonstrating a strong grasp of performance metrics and trendsIdentify and implement continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean manufacturing and 5S principlesDevelop and execute training and workforce development plans, proactively addressing skill gapsCollaborate cross-functionally to balance operational needs while maintaining forward momentum on change initiativesPlan and schedule work to utilize equipment and maintain maximum productivity levelsUtilize operating indicators for control of product cost, material usage, machine downtime, expenditure control and other shift functionsEnsure production activities are in compliance with company policies procedures and that manufactured goods meet finished product specificationsMaintain strict compliance with all financial, legal, regulatory and environmental requirements within the operationActively support improvement of safety performance by reducing OSHA incident rate and lost time accidents to 0May be required to perform other related duties as assignedIdeal Candidate Profile:Bachelor's degree requiredDemonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within a 24/7 operationStrong supervisory and leadership skills – This position manages a staff of 115 hourly/8 salary employees, sets direction and deploys resources.
