Position Overview

Full‑Time Packaging Supervisor – Key player in direct supervision and training of the non‑flower packaging team, managing inventory of packaging, labeling, and finished products while maintaining accurate documentation in the state‑mandated system and ERP.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for direct supervision and training of all team members engaged in the packaging, labeling, and data tracking of finished products.
  • Monitor employees to ensure attendance and adherence to break and meal schedules; ensure proper communication of tasks through shift changes.
  • Plan and adhere to daily packaging schedules to meet efficiency goals.
  • Verify that all working areas, tools, processing equipment, packaging and labeling components are maintained in good working order before each shift or batch.
  • Ensure packaging, labeling, and data reporting activities comply with TerrAscend quality and safety standards, regulatory compliance, and applicable legal and food safety requirements.
  • Safely operate, clean, calibrate, and maintain equipment including manual, semi‑automatic, and automatic liquid filling machines, capping machines, label applicators, label printers, and scales according to SOPs.
  • Document all activities using the state‑mandated MJ Freeway seed‑to‑sale system and the ERP system.
  • Produce reliable, precise data for required batch, equipment, quality, inventory, and state‑mandated documentation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of process SOPs, work instructions, and controlled document revisions.
  • Manage inventory of packaging and labeling components, finished products, and other items via accurate records.
  • Adhere to safe chemical handling and disposal procedures as defined by SOPs and MSDS.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly environment for oneself and others.
  • Report to and actively support the Manufacturing Manager and processing team daily.
  • Drive productivity and cost‑effective packaging processes and develop innovative plans to achieve optimization.
  • Work nights and weekends as needed to complete critical tasks.
  • Other tasks and duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related fields is preferred.
  • Experience working in a GMP manufacturing or laboratory environment is preferred.
  • Experience in the medical marijuana/cannabis industry is preferred.
  • Applicant must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must remain compliant with all company regulations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Environmental & Physical Requirements

This position requires working in an environment with a high amount of plant matter and pollen. Areas of the facility reach high/low temperatures with high humidity levels. Employees may have exposure to dust, plant matter, and particles that affect the respiratory system, eyes, or skin. Protective gear is required. Certain areas use harsh chemicals such as bleach and may involve repetitive movements.

Physical requirements:

  • Able to push, pull, lift, or move a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Capable of sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, squatting, and/or walking for extended periods.
  • Capable of using hands and fingers to touch, handle, feel and pick.
  • Ability to work with hazardous chemicals (butane, propane, etc.) following strict safety guidelines.
  • Utilize chemicals such as bleach to clean and maintain facility/equipment.
  • Must wear PPE (clothing protection), close‑toed non‑slip shoes, and optional ear/eye protection.
