Manufacturing Operations & Engineering Assistantis a 100+ year-old American manufacturer of high-quality commercial furniture and a 100% employee-owned company. They are looking for a Manufacturing Operations & Engineering Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of their high-volume manufacturing facility in Conneautville, PA. This hands-on role works across manufacturing, engineering, warehouse, purchasing, shipping, maintenance, and other departments to improve processes and solve operational challenges.
The position offers significant variety and the chance to take ownership of projects that impact the company's operations.Responsibilities:Support product and process improvements across furniture components and manufacturing processesInvestigate quality and production issues and assist with root-cause analysis and corrective actionsCreate and maintain drawings, measurements, specifications, work instructions, and SOPsSupport inventory accuracy, warehouse organization, material identification, and product storageIdentify opportunities to reduce excess inventory, material waste, scrap, rework, damage, downtime, and unnecessary handlingCoordinate information and priorities across production, sales, customer service, purchasing, shipping, and managementAssist with production, operational, and special projects throughout the facilitySupport maintenance planning for CNC equipment, production equipment, vehicles, buildings, and other facility assetsCoordinate with outside contractors and service providers as neededAssist with quality inspections, checklists, and continuous improvement initiativesSupport projects involving warehouse layout, preventative maintenance, product modifications, new product development, materials, suppliers, and manufacturing processesSkills / Requirements:Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesComfortable working in both office and manufacturing environmentsBasic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, email, and common business softwareAbility to work hands-on in a manufacturing environmentValid driver's license and acceptable driving recordExperience with inventory management, ERP systems, Excel/data tracking, or manufacturing equipment preferredFamiliarity with technical drawings, measuring tools, CAD, product development, process improvement, or quality control is a plusMechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability preferredAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, industrial technology, business, or a related field preferred but not required
