New Tech Global is currently seeking a Manufacturing Material Handler for a position in Houston, Texas.
Employment Type: Full-time, Temp-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM. Friday work is dependent on business needs. Overtime as needed.
Candidates must successfully pass a forklift driving test before moving forward with the assignment.
Overview
The Manufacturing Material Handler provides logistical and material-handling support for the manufacturing process and assists multiple departments as needed, with a primary focus on manufacturing operations. This is an on-site position that may require employees to be in their assigned area before the start of the shift to stage and prepare the work area. Additional hours may be required during peak periods and year-end.
The organization manufactures and distributes mechanical products serving the HVAC, electrical, and plumbing industries. This role supports a fast-paced operation where safety, accuracy, timely material movement, and dependable service are essential.
The ideal candidate will bring strong safety awareness, inventory and material-control experience, forklift/reach-truck operation skills, clear communication, teamwork, and effective time management.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Ensure accurate physical and electronic movement of materials and stock.
  • Count and verify materials against work orders and packing lists.
  • Transfer stock between departments and work areas using a forklift and handheld scanning device.
  • Communicate with zone leads and department heads regarding issues or discrepancies involving physical or system material movements.
  • Handle stock safely, quickly, and efficiently throughout various functions in the facility.
  • Maintain daily equipment and material-movement logs to support safe operations and accurate records.
  • Participate in problem solving and support continuous-improvement efforts.
  • Maintain a willingness to learn and grow as a member of the team.
  • Maintain a positive and respectful attitude while working independently and in a team environment.
  • Work overtime as business needs require.
  • Perform other related duties as directed.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Warehouse, receiving, manufacturing material-handling, inventory, or related work experience preferred.
  • Forklift and/or reach-truck operating experience required; candidates must be able to successfully complete the required forklift driving test.
  • Forklift certification is not required but is considered a plus.
  • Strong safety awareness and ability to follow established procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good computer skills and ability to use handheld scanning devices and related systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, time management, and material-control practices.
  • Solid work history demonstrating reliability and dependability.
  • Ability to work safely, quickly, and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to remain on your feet for an 8-hour shift and lift 35-50 lbs.; must be able to carry up to 60 lbs. occasionally.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
