Lead manufacturing engineering and facility maintenance activities supporting production, quality, safety, and operational efficiency. Oversee the maintenance and reliability of manufacturing equipment, building systems, utilities, and facility infrastructure. This includes monitoring quality control, optimizing productivity, and implementing process improvements. This position will be responsible for improving manufacturing processes, equipment reliability, productivity, and safety while ensuring the facility, utilities, and production equipment are properly maintained and operational.Supervision: Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineers as well as facilities management resources.Essential Responsibilities:Identify and implement process improvements to increase productivity, reduce costs, improve quality, and minimize downtimeEvaluate manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, layouts, and production methodsLead capital equipment projects from concept and justification through installation, commissioning, and production launchTroubleshoot complex equipment and manufacturing problems and develop sustainable corrective actionsSupport new product introductions, equipment installations, process changes cross functionallyLead Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and cost-reduction initiativesImplement and establish departmental goals, objectives, and procedures while conferring with team members as necessaryEnsure compliance with all company and external standards/regulationsEstablish a PM program, schedules, procedures, documentation, and performance metrics for production equipment and facility systemsMonitor equipment reliability, downtime, maintenance costs, and recurring failuresLead preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives to reduce unplanned downtimeCoordinate repairs, equipment servicing, inspections, and outside contractorsMonitor department budgets and expenditures to meet financial cost targets and objectivesPerform basic management duties as required including preparing the site and workforce for audits, monitor resources and shipmentsProactively implement and drive site-wide continuous improvement activitiesImplement and maintain a culture where all employees pursue continuous improvement in all processesManage facility systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, building infrastructure, and other critical utilitiesMaintain compliance with applicable safety, environmental, building, and regulatory requirementsEvaluate equipment replacement needs and develop capital expenditure proposalsMaintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, inspections, and facility projectsEstablish and maintain relationships with contractors, vendors, service providers, and equipment suppliersMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in engineering required, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or a related engineering discipline10+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, maintenance, facilities, or in combinationStrong knowledge of manufacturing equipment, machinery, and industrial facility systemsApplied knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPS, or other continuous improvement methodologies in a manufacturing environmentExperience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or automated equipment.Experience leading capital equipment and facility improvement projectsDemonstrated experience with p-cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.Strong project, time management, oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills with proven ability to effectively collaborate with peers and associatesAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, equipment documentation, and technical specificationsPreferred Qualifications:Industrial Engineering degreeExperience with predictive maintenance technologies.Experience with PLCs, automation, robotics, or industrial controls. Experience managing contractors and outside service providers.Skills, Abilities, & Other Requirements Adheres to Powell’s core values (Customer First, Can-Do Attitude, Respect for Employees, and Commitment to Improve)Ability to effectively manage stressful situations and respond professionally under all circumstances.Sees the world through the eyes of customers, understands their needs, exceeds their expectations, and establishes and sustains long-term relationshipsEngages people effectively across the organization and mobilizes them to act with energy and drive.
