For more than 70 years, our products have helped shape the spaces where people live, gather, and make lasting memories.Position PurposeLead the human resources function on the Plant Leadership Team (PLT) in coordinating and optimizing human resources and training/development functions to meet or exceed established plant goals.

This role goes beyond traditional HR responsibilities by serving as an active leader in developing the PLT, salaried workforce, and hourly workforce.Essential FunctionsDevelop and lead the human resources function within the manufacturing plant or distribution center through collaboration with business leaders in all other functional areas and the Corporate officeEnsure the AWC culture exists and flourishes in the plant; intervene when cultural imperatives are not being metAssist the plant manager in developing the PLT through team building, organizational development, succession planning, IDPs, and PIPsMaintain strong HR presence on the plant floor.Coordinate all salary and hourly recruiting activities proactively.Provide counseling and support on policy, benefits, salary administration, training/development, and performance issues.Assist leadership with skills development for both PLT and floor?level teams.Monitor and coordinate governmental and regulatory compliance activities and report concerns to the appropriate Corporate contact.Participate in employment actions to ensure compliance with employment laws and minimize litigation risk.Work with Corporate HR and Legal to prepare documentation for employment?related claims (EEOC, DOL, NLRB, OSHA, WC).Maintain high transactional accuracy including employee files, PAFs, requisitions, and required reports.Support SQDC targets and identify improvements to meet/exceed expectations.Actively participate on teams/projects and seek best practices.Oversee training efforts and ensure accuracy and consistency in delivery.Coordinate and complete goal setting and performance appraisal processes.Participate in wage and benefits surveys and report competitiveness concerns.Communicate department expectations and motivate team members; develop HR supervisor where applicable.Ensure policies are followed and provide guidance and counseling as needed.Establish goals and conduct performance reviews.Support and maintain a union?free environment.Provide a safe and productive work environment.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.Represent the company in community relations activities.Demonstrates the cognitive, language, reasoning, and mathematical abilities consistent with the expectations of this role.Performs other duties as assigned.Complies with all core values, policies, and standards.Recruitment process may consist of any combination of phone, video and in person interviews.Offers may be contingent upon successful completion of Background Check, Drug Screen, Physical Examination and/or potential Motor Vehicle Check.Ideal Candidate ProfileWork Experience8+ years human resource management experience; manufacturing or distribution center - Required5+ years supervision experience across multiple departments - Required5+ years developing individuals and teams in a high?performance environment - Required5+ years track record of strong project management - RequiredKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesBilingual in Spanish is a plusExcellent computer skills in a network environment (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)Management style must align with CITE principlesStrong planning, organization, and time?management skillsDemonstrated problem?solving abilitiesAbility to read, analyze, and interpret business/technical journals and financial reportsAbility to respond to inquiries/complaints from customers, agencies, or the publicAbility to develop and deliver presentations to production teams, plant leadership, or public groupsAbility to apply basic math concepts to manufacturing or financial performance dataAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusionsAbility to interpret technical instructions in various formats and work with abstract or concrete variablesEducationBachelors Degree human resources, business administration or related discipline - RequiredMasters Degree human resources, business administration or related discipline - PreferredLicenses and CertificationsSHRM-CP - Preferred orSHRM-SCP - Preferred orProfessional in Human Resources (PHR)-HRCI - Preferred orSenior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR)-HRCI - PreferredBENEFITS PACKAGE INCLUDES:Competitive CompensationHealth Care BenefitsPaid HolidaysPaid Vacation DaysPaid Sick Days401(k) Retirement Savings Plan & Profit SharingTuition AssistancePet InsuranceAdditional Voluntary benefits AvailableRelocation Assistance (for select roles)AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYERThe American Woodmark Corporation does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, ancestry, age, religion, military and veteran status, sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, genetic information, marital status, medical condition, pregnancy, or any other legally-protected characteristic; and it will comply with all applicable state discrimination laws.
