On behalf of our client, a company building satellite hardware at the forefront of space technology, we're hiring a Manufacturing Engineering Manager (PCBA) with 5+ years of experience to lead and scale internal PCBA production capabilities. You are a self-driven, detail-oriented production leader who thrives in fast-paced, cross-functional environments and has a track record of transitioning products from development to high-rate production.

This is a unique opportunity to build and lead a team at the forefront of space technology, directly impacting our client’s ability to deliver against a significant satellite production backlog.
What You’ll Do
- Lead a team of engineers, specialists, and technicians performing PCBA assembly and test operations for development and flight hardware
- Develop and implement a robust production strategy to establish and scale internal PCBA production capabilities to meet aggressive factory rate targets
- Champion Design-for-Manufacturing (DFM) with design engineering to influence hardware designs for manufacturability
- Own the physical production layout, optimizing material flow from receiving through all processes to finished product
- Create metrics and tools to monitor production success (yield, on-time delivery) and drive continuous improvement across processes, tooling, and GSE
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or production engineering, ideally in PCBA assembly and test
- Track record of transitioning products from development to high-rate production
- Experience with SMT and through-hole assembly processes
- Strong background in Design-for-Manufacturing (DFM) principles
- Experience with factory layout, capacity planning, and new product introduction
- Comfortable operating in a highly regulated or export-controlled hardware environment
- Location: San Francisco, CA (5 days on-site)
- Full-time
- U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Asylee/Refugee status required due to export regulations; no visa sponsorship or transfer available
