Owen Daniels is partnered with a global leader in aerospace technology. Their Northern Utah site is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead and energize an in place team.
This is a leadership role for a change agent, bringing fresh perspective, driving process improvement, and guiding the team ahead of major new aircraft programs.
Job Summary
- Lead, motivate, and engage a large team of manufacturing engineers and technicians elevating the function and holding people accountable.
- Bring fresh thinking and best practices to modernize manufacturing processes from old to new.
- Develop people, growing less experienced engineers and build subject matter experts within the team.
- Drive innovative solutions to complex production problems through advanced manufacturing processes.
- Improve efficiency by analyzing workflow, labor, space, and equipment layout for maximum productivity.
- Apply lean principles and continuous improvement to critical, high-impact production areas.
- Evaluate capital equipment investments, prepare cost justifications, and manage implementation projects.
- Establish manufacturing methods for new products and prototypes, and standardize existing methods.
- Ensure product and process quality through testing, validation, and root cause analysis using statistical methods.
- Act as a regular customer-facing point of contact, presenting program status and corrective action plans.
Required and Desirable Experience
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Engineering.
- 7+ years of leadership experience with increasing responsibility
- Aerospace background preferred
- Strong, process-oriented leader and proven change agent with excellent team-building skills.
- Comfortable working directly with customers.
