- Lead the site technology function for Jabil’s manufacturing processes and systems
- Support Operations’ business development efforts with current and potential customers
- Develop and implement site and global manufacturing and industrial engineering strategies
- Establish optimized manufacturing methods and processes for production lines
- Lead and motivate a large group of engineering staff
- Review utilization of equipment, production methods, equipment layout, personnel, and material flow
- Recruit, interview, and hire Industrial, Process, Manufacturing, and Project Engineers
- Coach and mentor engineering staff and manage succession plans
- Establish measurable goals, evaluate performance, and drive continuous improvement
- Coordinate large teams during crises and manage recognition and rewards
- Define and execute engineering strategies aligned with campus and corporate direction
- Provide strategy execution updates to business and workcell managers
- Manage technical support for global growth strategy as needed
- Reduce costs by streamlining processes, eliminating non-value-added activities, and re-engineering systems
- Prepare departmental forecasts and analyze trends
- Anticipate headcount requirements based on open bays and projected business
- Drive continuous improvement through trend reporting, metrics management, and improved data gathering
- Prepare quotes for new and potential customers
- Forecast technical trends and support supplier technology roadmaps
- Verify reconfiguration requirements and monitor line moves
- Lead equipment evaluations and ensure measurement criteria meet site requirements
- Develop processes supporting expanding customer requirements and product densification
- Assist Project and Design Engineers with Design for Manufacturability issues
- Establish measurement systems and implement best-in-field practices
- Support troubled workcells and product launches
- Share best practices across Jabil facilities
- Ensure adherence to company policies, health and safety, quality, and security procedures
- Drive Lean Manufacturing consistently throughout the campus
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience with SMT technical processes, including screen printing, reflow oven, selective solder, and conformal coating
- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing and industrial engineering philosophies and processes
- Proven communication, leadership, business analysis, process development, administration, and change management experience
- 2–3 years of supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
