This position reports to Operations Manager and will work in Port St Lucie, FL.About the positionAs Manufacturing Engineer of the Port St Lucie team, you will be involved in finding and implementing better ways to manufacture products at Dometic's Port St Lucie facility.

The main goal of the manufacturing engineer is continuous improvement and is accomplished by utilizing a hands-on approach to the manufacturing process and employing Lean tools, six-sigma, TOC, and PFMEA to all phases of the operation.Your main responsibilitiesPerform end-to-end planning of manufacturing processes including layout, flow, assembly methods, cycle times, equipment, fixturing, and other related manufacturing costsCalculate workspace requirements and design strategies/layouts to utilize floor space most effectivelyTroubleshoot production problems and implement effective corrective actions that address root causeMust be able to quantitatively improve existing products and manufacturing process outputsDesign, develop, test, and/or source as well as cost-justify various machinery, equipment, and fixtures for recommended manufacturing methodsSupport development teams in evaluating new product designs & manufacturing processes to ensure products will meet customer requirementsCreate & implement supporting documentation with the manufacturing management team such as operator instructions, control plans, and process requirementsPerform equipment calibration and process/equipment capability studiesDevelop training materials that facilitate faster aptitude gain and effectively deliver those materials in a team environment to ensure employees throughout the facility are trainedRespond to corrective actions/preventive actions in a timely mannerInvestigate and respond to customer complaints in conjunction with Quality departmentDevelop and maintain a high level of product knowledgeKeep technical knowledge current by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, etc.Actively engage in and motivate and inspire hands-on problem solving across disciplinesIncorporate company vision and values into day-to-day activities and behaviorsGuide and motivate others to remain committed to Dometic's philosophyPerform other duties as assignedWhat do we offer?You are offered an interesting role in a dynamic, fast-paced and global environment with great opportunities to grow, evolve with the company and take on new challenges.Medical/Dental/Vision InsuranceEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Disability insurance (STD/LTD)401 (k) with company matchPTOCompany defined holidays and two floating holidays for you to use as you choosePaid maternity/paternity leaveTuition assistanceMembership reimbursement (wholesale club and gym)Employee discounts on our incredible productsOpportunities to make an impactSkills & requirementsA suitable background would be a solid experience within engineering and manufacturing as well as the following qualifications and experiences:Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution, master's degree is a plusMust have a working knowledge of ISO 9000 Quality Management SystemA minimum of three (3) years working in a manufacturing environmentAble to present data to senior managementExperience in lean manufacturing is required, Six Sigma certification is a plusMastery of Word, Excel, and Solid WorksSoftware experience in C#, WPF, PHP a definite asset.PLC experience in Productivity 3000 a plus.SolidWorks, Altium Designer system experience is a bonus.Certified LabView Developer designation or equivalent.To be successful in this role, we believe that you possess the following skills, competencies & characteristics:Strong written and verbal communication skillsExemplary standards of ethics, integrity, and accountabilityDetail oriented with strong organizational skillsMust have the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlinesSense of urgency and self-motivationAble to work independently and in team environmentsMust be able to solve complex situations and be resourcefulMust be able to teach and generate results while enhancing the Dometic work environment and supporting the Company philosophyDometic's core valuesTo thrive and succeed in this role, you understand the importance of our core values – Together We Build Our Future, We Play To Win, We Embrace Change and We Walk The Talk; these values reflect the heart and soul of Dometic and they define what it takes to work here and how we do things.Are you our next star?
