Manufacturing Engineer
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for supporting production in the plant and will report to the Plant Engineering Manager. The role will work both independently and as a part of a team to maintain and improve processes and systems used in manufacturing. In addition, this role will function as a specialist and subject matter expert for technical planning throughout the facility.
Responsibilities
- Develops, improves, and monitors standards, processes, and performance to reduce costs and improve production operations
- Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, and drive safety, quality, throughput, and cost savings initiatives
- Provides objective, functional, and financial engineering guidance on capital expenditures to site management.
- Supports installation and implementation of capital expenditures.
- Develop and maintain SOPs and Work Instructions
- Provides lean manufacturing guidance to operations through coordination with the site Lean Manager
- Investigate production issues using a systematic approach to root cause and corrective actions (8D problem solving methodology)
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Associates degree in a technical field with equivalent technical experience
- Previous experience with or exposure to the welding process is beneficial
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Thorough knowledge of manufacturing concepts
- Experience within a lean manufacturing environment preferred
- Proven 8D, 5Y, or relevant problem-solving methodology
