The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing and optimizing manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling and assembly methods to support safe, efficient and scalable production. This role focuses on mechanical manufacturing operations, assembly process development, fixture and tooling design, capacity expansion, automation implementation and continuous improvement initiatives. The Manufacturing Engineer works closely with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance and Product Engineering to lead the development of robust and scalable manufacturing solutions that support efficient transition from product development into volume production while driving continuous improvements in safety, quality, delivery and cost.Job Duties/ResponsibilitiesTooling, Fixtures & Equipment Design, develop and implement assembly fixtures, tooling and production aidsDevelop equipment specifications (URS), FAT/SAT acceptance criteria, and support supplier equipment design reviews.Coordinate installation, commissioning, validation, and handover of new manufacturing equipment into production.Specify, procure, install and qualify production equipment and manufacturing tools Support automation initiatives to improve throughput, quality and labor efficiencyManage equipment upgrades and process modificationsDevelop equipment acceptance criteria and support equipment validation and commissioning activitiesManufacturing Readiness & Production SupportProvide day-to-day support for production operations and resolve manufacturing-related issuesDevelop corrective and preventive actions to improve process performanceSupport NPI and production ramp-up activities and capacity planning effortsParticipate in ECN/ECR implementation and manufacturing change control activitiesSupport customer audits, manufacturing readiness reviews, APQP activities, and launch readiness assessmentsEnsure manufacturing processes, equipment and work instructions comply with established safety, quality and operational excellenceDevelop and deliver training, work instructions, and OJT to support safe, efficient, and standardized manufacturing operations.Support operator and technician qualification, training compliance, and ongoing knowledge sharing across manufacturing teams.Manufacturing Process DevelopmentDevelop and maintain Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), PFMEA, Control Plans, Standardized Work, and Manufacturing Risk Assessments throughout the product lifecycleSupport NPI activities by establishing robust and repeatable manufacturing processes and designing tools equipmentDrive DFM reviews with Engineering to ensure products can be manufactured efficiently and at target costLead manufacturing process validation activities including IQ, OQ, PQ, Run-at-Rate, and PPAP manufacturing deliverables where applicable.Data Analysis & Performance MonitoringCollect and analyze manufacturing data related to quality, productivity, utilization, downtime and yieldDevelop key process metrics and dashboards to monitor manufacturing performancePerform cost-benefit analyses for process improvements, automation investments and capital expendituresUtilize statistical analysis tools such as Minitab, SPC, DOE, and Measurement System Analysis (MSA/Gage R&R) to improve process capability and manufacturing performance.Continuous ImprovementAnalyze manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks, waste, quality issues and productivity lossesIdentify and implement automation and Industry 4.0 solutions to improve manufacturing productivity, traceability, and real-time process monitoring.Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologiesDrive reductions in cycle time, labor content, scrap, rework and overall manufacturing costImplement process controls and monitoring systems to improve process stability and repeatabilitySupport factory layout optimization and material flow improvementAdditional skills (preferred): Automotive Quality & Compliance Support APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC, and customer-specific quality requirements Ensure manufacturing processes comply with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and applicable customer standards Participate in internal, customer, and third-party audits and implement corrective actions as required Support manufacturing traceability systems and product genealogy requirements.Experience Required Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field 3-7 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in DC/DC converters, AC/DC power supplies, power electronics, or related electronics manufacturing environments, with expertise in tooling design and implementation, process development, production support, and continuous improvement initiatives. Strong understanding of manufacturing process development, industrialization, process validation, and manufacturing readiness for medium to high-volume production Experience developing assembly processes, production equipment, fixtures, and tooling Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and manufacturing transfers Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, PFMEA, DFMEA, Control Plans, APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, DOE, and process validation methodologies Experience with ERP/MRP systems (ARAS, Avante, Factory Logic, or equivalent) for BOM management, Engineering Change Orders (ECO/ECN), and manufacturing planning Strong understanding of ergonomic workstation design and occupational safety standards (OSHA or equivalent) Experience using structured problem-solving methodologies including 8D, DMAIC, A3, 5 Why, Fishbone, and CAPA Proficiency with SolidWorks for fixture and tooling design Experience with robotics, PLC-controlled automation, vision inspection systems, servo systems, and collaborative robots (Cobots) is an assetWork Environment This position is an on-site role, with 1 flex day per week of remote work.Competencies Building and Supporting Teams Communicating Effectively Delivering High Quality Work Evaluating and Implementing Ideas Prioritizing and Organizing Work Supporting Organizational GoalsCompensation Data The salary range for this role is $90,000/year - $104,000/year.
