Manufacturing EngineerEssential duties and responsibilities include providing technical leadership to product operations, assisting supervisors with new techniques, procedures, processes, and problem solving. Own the manufacturing engineering support for defined product lines. Drive product/project decisions between R&D and manufacturing. Develop, maintain, follow, and improve manufacturing engineering area processes. Create specifications for software tools. Drive proto/pilot builds through manufacturing. Analyze results and provide reports to production and R&D.

Provide business system, process flow, and design for manufacturability input to R&D during new product development. Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles. Understand. Create. Simplify. Other duties as assigned.Required qualifications include a B.S. in Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical engineering or equivalent experience, 2 years experience in electronic manufacturing processes, excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills, strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills, ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities, ability to work cooperatively in a team environment, background check results satisfactory to SEL, and negative drug test result(s).Preferred qualifications include knowledge/experience in surface mount technology design guidelines, sheet metal fabrication, manufacturing tooling design, material flow modeling, process design, cabling, and reliability.Physical requirements include none.About Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories: SEL designs, manufactures, and supports products and systems that protect, monitor, control, and automate electric power systems.

We set starting pay based on job-related factors such as your experience, training, knowledge, and skills. We are looking to fill this position at the Manufacturing Engineer level, and we welcome applicants with a range of experience.
