Job function: Manufacturing and Engineering (Architectural and Structural Metal Manufacturing)
Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes related to aluminum extrusion, including billet heating, extrusion, cooling, stretch, cut, aging and fabrication operations.
* Evaluate and improve production methods, equipment, and tooling for efficiency, cost reduction, and quality improvement.
* Develop and implement process control systems, including SPC, to maintain consistent product quality.
* Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to troubleshoot process or equipment issues.
* Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen principles.
* Conduct time and motion studies to identify bottlenecks and streamline workflows.
* Participate in new product development and launch activities, including tooling design reviews and process trials.
* Ensure all operations comply with safety, health, and environmental standards.
* Prepare technical documentation such as work instructions, SOPs, PFMEAs, and control plans.
* Analyze production data, generate reports, and present findings and recommendations to management.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
* 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; experience with aluminum extrusion preferred.
* Strong understanding of extrusion processes, tooling design, heat treatment, and metallurgical principles.
* Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
* Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
