Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and analytical Manufacturing Engineer to plan, direct, and coordinate production processes to support efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality operations. In this role, you will develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, tooling, production controls, and equipment while driving continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.
This is a hands-on technical role where you will partner closely with production, quality, design, and supply chain teams to optimize manufacturing capabilities and workflow layouts. You will lead new product introductions (NPI), resolve shop-floor issues, manage capital equipment projects, and apply lean principles to maximize uptime and reduce scrap. Key Responsibilities
Process Development & NPI Execution
• Feasibility & Costing: Review specifications, bid proposals, and cost estimate requests to establish order feasibility, manufacturability, investment requirements, and delivery schedules.
• New Product Introduction (NPI): Develop manufacturing processes, methods, tooling, and production controls for new product lines; supervise assembly and proofing stages.
• Line Balancing & Routing: Plan and execute work measurement studies, define operations, and balance production lines to targeted TAKT times while maintaining accurate labor routings.
Continuous Improvement & Plant Support
• Shop-Floor Problem Solving: Provide technical assistance to production, materials, quality control, and safety teams to swiftly resolve issues involving materials, processes, and tooling.
• Lean & 5S Leadership: Champion Lean Manufacturing and Flow Manufacturing practices. Lead 5S activities, facilitate Kaizen events, and drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on scrap reduction and uptime optimization.
• Capital Equipment: Manage capital equipment planning, justification, and procurement activities, supporting installation, startup, and personnel training.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related discipline).
• Experience Baseline: 1 to 3+ years of hands-on professional experience in a manufacturing engineering environment.
• Core Methodologies: Working knowledge of formal problem-solving frameworks, lean manufacturing principles, and production costing/financial controls.
• Technical Skills:
oExperience supporting new product and process introductions.
oProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio) and manufacturing support software.
• Competencies: Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities to influence personnel at all levels of the plant.
Preferred Attributes
• Demonstrated experience with CNC programming, tool design and selection, or Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
• Strong leadership, training, and public-facing presentation skills.
• Structured, logical, and systematic mindset geared toward process visualization and efficiency.
